2010 Pre-Season Rankings - Southwest

Texas powerhouses Trinty (Euless, TX) and Katy (Katy Hill, TX) top the charts in the 2010 Pre-Season Prep Football America rankings in the Southwest.

A regular in the Top 10 Lake Travis (Austin, TX) starts the season ranked third, followed by Union (Tulsa, OK) and one of the Lonestar State's premier football programs in Cedar Hill (Cedar Hill, TX).

Trey Hopkins commits to Longhorns
It didn't take very long for Prep Football All-American Trey Hopkins, from Galena Park (TX) North Shore, to make up his mind on his school of choice.;

The class of 2009 was barely in the bag for Mac Brown, and the staff at Texas, when Hopkins gave his verbal pledge to the Longhorns. Hopkins (6-4, 260) is the first burnt orange commit for the class of 2010.

As a sophomore Hopkins garnered enough interest to earn 2nd Team All-District and, as junior in 2008, the talented tackle earned 1st Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-State. Read the full story ...

Texas Athlete Craig Loston Headed to Baton Rouge
Widely recruited Prep All-American Craig Loston is a big, physical and versatile athlete who wrecked havoc on both sides of the ball during his prep career.  

Loston, from Houston, TX (Eisenhower), plays wide receiver on offense, safety on defense and punts on special teams. He has great instincts and can make the big plays in a game. He performs in all four quarters and uses his physcial nature to intimidate the opponent.

Loston had 83 tackles and three interceptions defensively. He had 21 catches for 847 yards and seven touchdowns on offense. He also scored four touchdowns on special teams (two kickoff, two punt return) as a return specialist.

Before picking LSU Loston also considered the likes of Alabama, Missouri, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and Southern Cal. Read the full story ...
