2010 Pre-Season Rankings - Eastern

For the second season in a row one of the most storied high school football programs around the nation, Don Bosco Prep (NJ), takes the top spot in the East for the 2010 Prep Football America pre-season rankings. 

Bishop McDevitt (PA) and La Salle (Wyndmoor, PA) are strong contenders followed by Bergen Catholic (NJ) and Gateway (Monroeville, PA).  All of these teams will be in the national mix at the end of the season.

The Penn State faithful added a superstar to their pledge of recruits recently when they received a committment from Silas Redd, from Stamford (CT) King & Low Heywood Thomas.  Redd has been one of the most sought after athletes up and down the east coast for this class.

Prep Football All-American Jordan Thomas, from Endicott (NY) Union-Endicott, doesn't have a preference on what position he may play at the college level, but most schools are recruiting the talented Thomas as a safety.

Thomas (6-1, 190) is a fabulous two-way player who excels on both sides of the football. Thomas finished his junior season with over 1,000 yards rushing on 141 carries and 11 TD's, and he also snagged 14 receptions for 400 yards and another 4 TD's. Read the full story ...

Jelani Jenkins Down to Final 5
Not only is Prep All-American Jelani Jenkins one of the most talented football players in the class of 2009 he is also a fabulous student, carrying a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.

The All-Everything Jenkins, from Olney, MD (Our Lady Good Counsel) is the #1 linebacker in the nation, and one of the top athletes on the east coast.  

Jenkins registered 60 tackles, four sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and recovered two fumbles on defense. He also rushed for 791 yards and 16 touchdowns.  He earned first-team Washington-Post All-Met honors.

Jenkins is set to visit Florida and Illinois, and he is also considering Boston College, Maryland and Notre Dame. Read the full story ...
